Editor’s Picks 12/20: Jabari Parker Day

THE DECISION: At 3 p.m. this afternoon, Jabari Parker will announce where he’ll play college basketball. The finalists remain BYU, Duke, Florida, Michigan State, and Stanford. Parker insists all five are still in the running (Tribune), building the drama for this afternoon’s event that will be televised on ESPNU. Last week, Parker’s dad, Sonny, put Duke and Michigan State at the top of the list (USA Today), but has since backtracked. The Sun-Times called Duke the favorite, and Coach K was at Parker’s home Tuesday afternoon making his final pitch. Wherever Parker decides to go, national championship expectations will surely follow. But that’s next year. This season, Parker still has an injured foot to deal with and a fourth state title to win.
